Diane Ravitch

Diane Ravitch is Research Professor of Education at New York University and a historian of education. She is the Co-Founder and President of the Network for Public Education (NPE). She has written 12 books, including two national bestsellers. She received the Grawemeyer Award in 2014. Her most recent book is Slaying Goliath: The Passionate Resistance to Privatization and the Danger to America’s Schools. From 1991 to 1993, she served as the United States Assistant Secretary of Education, and from 1997 to 2004, she was a member of the National Assessment Governing Board, which oversees the National Assessment of Educational Progress.
