CSU's push for financing

Larry Penley, President of Colorado State University, is working directly with the private sector to invest in university research. His new approach to higher education funding relies on the interest of companies to support research leading to inventions. University scientists, likewise, can form non-profit companies to market and sell their products. CSU brought in $296 million in research funding last year, compared to $133 million from the state.
