District OKs plan to borrow on 17 buildings

The Denver Public School Board has decided to seek $700 million in loans, using 17 school buildings as collateral, mainly in order to fund its pension program. The district's debt to its pension program has been central to its financial issues, and Superintendent Michael Bennet hopes to ease this burden.
