Colorado universities are making significant changes in order to attract and retain more students. Currently, less than 50% of college students finish their degree, while the entrance rate has declined since 2004 despite an increasing population. The growth in the Latino population in particular is leading universities to become a more welcoming environment for students who are first generation attendees, including more personal contact, support services, smaller classes, and different living arrangements.
