CA: LA reconsidering space offers to charter schools

L.A. Unified may rethink offers to charter schools

Just a few weeks after agreeing to offer charter schools the opportunity to use space in existing public schools, LA school district officials are reconsidering in light of backlash against the proposal.  Opponents of the shared space plan say that the presence of charter schools in the public schools will hinder the reform efforts at the public schools.  Charter schools are also not universally happy with the offers noting the difficulty of operating in a space where they are unwanted.
