Higher-ed fund spurned

The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce board of directors voted Thursday to reject Governor Bill Ritter's proposal to use money gained by eliminating an oil tax credit for college scholarships. Business leaders have repeatedly emphasized that the funds should be dedicated to higher ed institutions' general operating budgets instead. The measure is slated to be on the November ballot.
