7 Catholic schools in DC set to become charters

The DC Public Charter School Board approved a plan that will result in seven Catholic schools opening as secular charter schools this fall.  The financially strapped Catholic schools pushed for a quick approval to prevent disruption of provision of academic services.  Each of the schools will be renamed and will switch to a non-religious academic program.
