CU gets record amount from donors

The University of Colorado received $162 million in charitable contributions last year, amounting to 6.8% of the institution's budget and almost matching state funding. At 49th in the nation for state funding of higher education, private donations are increasingly important. Colorado State University, with $79.5 million, experienced a 51% increase in private funding from the prior year.
