What are your kids missing?
Colorado Springs Gazette August 10, 2008
The Harrison School District in the Colorado Springs area began offering a 1% salary bonus for teachers who used less than seven of their allotted eleven sick days last year. The percentage of teachers whose absences fell within this range increased from 93.9 to 94.6% in the first year of the program. The district hopes that the incentives will continue to improve teacher attendance due to the importance of the presence of the classroom teacher for student learning.
