CA: Push for more college-prep courses makes slow progress

L.A. Unified college prep goal sees little progress

Los Angeles Times   August 13, 2008

Unified School District agreed to ensure that students would have greater access to college prep classes in 2006 and that the classes would be required by 2012, little progress has been made.  At many schools, the number of college-prep courses offered and students taking those courses have declined or remained stagnant.  The Board is revisiting the issue to determine what actions should be taken.
