CA: Governor proposes five fewer school days

In an attempt to fix the California state budget deficit the governor is proposing to cut the school year down by five days to save $1.1 billion. Educators oppose the idea saying that they already have difficulty fitting the state's academic standards into the existing 180-day calendar.
