CO: School Counselor Corps program to boost student support

School counselors connect: new state program aimed at helping them be more successful

A $15 million statewide grant signed into law last year by Governor Bill Ritter will increase the number of counselors at 92 secondary schools across the state.  The program will require schools to set goals and take a targeted approach to address students' academic, career, personal and social needs. One emerging focus of the program is increasing the number of students who go on to college after graduation.
