CO: Education to face significant reduction in state funding

$200 million more in education cuts proposed

Many key spending gains approved by the state legislature last year will be cut amidst a state-wide budget crunch. Governor Ritter's administration proposed a 10% cut in the $8.2 million state budget, and k-12 education spending will be cut by approximately $128 million.  Cost-of-living increases for school districts, full day kindergarten, aid to districts for military mid-year enrollment and charter school construction capital also face significant cuts in funding.
