Senate passes "check stubs" bill

After numerous amendments and contentious debate, the Senate gave preliminarily approval to a bill that would require districts to begin posting detailed spending and budget information on their websites. Beginning in September 2011, districts that maintain and update their websites regularly would be required to provide monthly updates to their financial information.
