CO: In-state tuition for undocumented students
In-state tuition dangles in reach of illegal immigrants
The Denver Post March 1, 2009
Undocumented students in Colorado will be eligible for in-state tuition at state universities under a new Senate bill that heads to committee this week. Proponents argue that it is not fair to punish children for their parents' choices, and that given the investment the state has already make in k-12 education, it makes sense to give students access to a college education. Opponents contend that the measure is unfair to American citizens from other states who pay higher tuition rates.
