The Colorado state senate showed unanimous bipartisan support for Senate Bill 130, which would form "innovation zones" of schools that would be able to try new methods unbound by state and district rules. The bill originally included the option for these schools to opt out of teachers' union contract agreements, but this was eliminated in order to gain union support.
