Education Secretary Arne Duncan Rethinks His Goals

A recent NY Times article discusses the impact of the new Republican House leadership on the education agenda of Education Secretary Arne Duncan and President Obama. The future of No Child Left Behind is certainly forefront in that discussion, as are reform efforts like Race to the Top. As leaders reconsider the future of American education, we urge them to review NEPC's 2008 publication, Fellows' Education Letters to the President. In this publication, 15 educational scholars (and NEPC fellows) produced a collection of letters to President-elect Obama, outlining a gamut of ideas and proposals for creating a more productive and equitable educational system.
