CA: UC system may drop SAT subject test requirement

UC panel seeks to drop extra SAT tests from admission requirements

Los Angeles Times  March 16, 2008

A faculty panel is recommending that the nine University of California system undergraduate campuses drop the requirement that students take two SAT subject tests for admission.  The panel says the tests add little useful information about the applicants and unnecessarily exclude otherwise good candidates from being considered for admission.  The subject tests are required in addition to the basic SAT for admission.
