GA: School district faces loss of accreditation

Georgia students ponder future as schools court disaster

Los Angeles Times  March 14, 2008

Clayton County, Georgia, schools face loss of accreditation on September 1.  The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools voted last month to recommend the revocation of accreditation due to ethical violations by its board.  The district, among the poorest performing in the metro Atlanta area, would be the first in the nation to lose accreditation since the 1960s.
