TX District Settles Bible Class Lawsuit

District to Settle Bible Suit

New York Times March 6, 2008

A Texas school district settled a lawsuit concerning an elective course on the Bible. In the lawsuit, the A.C.L.U. and People for the American Way alleged that the Bible class was not taught in a neutral way thereby violating the First Amendment. The terms of the settlement, which include an agreement by the district to change the curriculum, are not binding on other districts.
