CA: Provision requires public schools to share space with charters

Turf face-off may be in store for L.A. schools

A little-noticed provision in an eight-year old state ballot provision requires district facilities to be shared with charter schools.  Charter school advocates sued the Los Angeles Unified School District, and an agreement was reached in Feburary.  As a result, over 40 schools are being asked to share space with charter schools in the upcoming school year.  Many of the schools being asked to share space are unhappy and argue that sharing space will hamper reform efforts.
