Many Mass. graduates unprepared in college

A recent report shows that over 1/3 of all high school graduates who go to college enroll in at least one remedial course, with the percentage much higher in urban districts.  Some attribute the high community college dropout rate to the effect remedial courses have on students, financially and in time invested in school.  Other officials noted how this report shows that the MCAS, the standardized test Massachusetts uses to meet NCLB requirements, does not test skills that college students are expected to have.
