State panel OKs online school at six sites in El Paso County

The Colorado Board of Education approved the operation of 67 "Hope Online" learning centers throughout Colorado. While the schools operate under a charter, the board overruled district decisions in this matter, including objections from Colorado Springs and Harrison school districts. The vote was split between 4 Republicans in favor and 2 Democrats opposed.
