CU chief: Plan should aid families in middle

University of Colorado President Bruce Benson says that the $130 million available next year through the Colorado Promise Scholarships should be available to those earning between $52,000 and $83,000 per year. As these income levels often do not qualify for Pell grants and other scholarships, middle class families are feeling squeezed by tuition hikes. Details on scholarship requirements, including financial need and merit, are yet to be determined.
