Denver's ACE Community Challenge Charter School has received a $150,000 grant as part of the U.S. Department of Education's $5.8 million program to implement random drug testing in various schools nationwide. The school serves eighth through tenth grade students who have experienced issues with drugs, gangs, and incarceration, and transitions them back to traditional high schools. The principal of ACE claims that students who test positive for drugs will be supported and counseled, not punished.
