Study shows achievement gap narrowing

Report:  Racial gap narrows, but what did No Child law do?

A research study released by the Center on Education Policy shows that the achievement gap between white and minority students has narrowed in most states.  The study notes that it is difficult to attribute a cause to the gains.  While No Child Left Behind was intended to reduce the achievement gap, many states had already started work to address the achievement gap before the law was passed.  Also, there are no control groups for measuring the effect of No Child Left Behind as all public schools fall under the law.
