Mediation has been scheduled for August 20-22, with threats of a strike if a teacher salary compromise is not reached between the Denver Classroom Teachers Association and the Denver Public School district. The district's ProComp plan is considered the most progressive pay for performance system in the country, and the current dispute between providing more incentives to younger teachers, who are more likely to exit the field, and rewarding veteran teachers has led to an impasse between the union and ProComp representatives.
