US: New research and development center for high school students with behavior disorders

Behavior disorders in teens are focus of new R&D effort

The National Research and Development Center on Serious Behavior Disorders at the Secondary Level has been established to help the problem at hand.  A $9.6 million federal grant has been awarded to seven universities to research and develop successful methods of educating adolescents with behavior and emotional disorders in high school. The first two years of the grant will focus on pilot programs. The remaining three years will apply the interventions to a larger group of students and track their results.
