Online K-12 enrollment up after law change

A new law in 2007 required online schools to adhere to "15 quality standards," including adhering to state budget standards and analyzing achievement data. The new law also allows online schools to receive state funding and online school enrollment has increased by over 2000 students in the last year, or a 26% increase. Most students come from affluent families but were generally less successful than their peers in traditional schools.
