CO: Independent study evaluates public education
Mixed grades for state education
The Denver Post February 3, 2009
In a study funded by the Piton Foundation, a panel of experts looked at seven issues related to education in Colorado. Among their conclusions were encouragement for the work being done to create a statewide academic growth model to track individual students and an effort to update standards. Encouragement was given to the governor's initiatives to curb drop outs and close achievement gaps. Alignment of education funding to meet individual needs and improving education quality were cited as areas for improvement.
