CO: Education bills win preliminary approval

Several education bills won prelimary approval in the House, including one that encourages districts to provide recess for elementary students and a second that gives adminstrators more flexibility in how they discipline students who bring facsimile weapons to school. The Senate approved two bills, one allowing charter schools more flexibility in their food services and the other creating parent advisory committees to the state department of education.
