CO: Innovation shapes district's future
The Denver Post March 16, 2007
Innovation and chartering are becoming prevalent themes in the Denver Public Schools as charter networks and private foundations clamor to get approval for their school ideas. The school board will vote tonight on whether to allow two of its high schools to become innovation schools, a status that would grant them charter-like freedoms. Other charter schools in the district have plans to expand in the district. While the number of charter and innovation schools increases, most of the districts students still attend traditional schools.
