CO: Rural schools benefit from state grants

$98M to be spent on fixing rural schools

The state made $77 million in contributions through a grant process to help eleven rural school districts with capital construction fees.  The grants were made possible by legislation passed last year to allow the state to tap value of its state-owned land in order to help school districts whose property values are too low for them to cover construction expenses.
