DPS approves state's first innovation schools

The Denver Board of Education approved two proposals from schools aspiring to become the state's first innovation schools since legislation was passed last year.  Once the applications are approved by the State Board of Education, the schools will be granted charter-like freedom on staffing, union and curriculum decisions.
