CO: Senate approves education bills

Recess, fake guns bills pass

The Senate approved several bills yesterday that will affect education policy in the state. The first will require two and a half hours of recess per week for elementary school students. The Senate also voted to provide exceptions to drill team members who have fake weapons on school property and to create an education innovation institute at the University of Colorado to perform, synthesize and disseminate educational research.
