Academic success for the children of US immigrants tends to decline
significantly from the first to the third generation. Why this is has yet to be determined, however, some suggested ways to improve this paradox include: preschool education, bilingual education, stronger
after-school programs, and stronger relationships between
pre-K-12 and higher education.
