Peter W. Cookson, Jr.

Peter W. Cookson, Jr. is a Principal Researcher and Director of The Equity Project at the American Institutes for Research and teaches sociology at Georgetown University. His research focuses on equity, equality of educational opportunity, new school design, and blended learning. He is the author of numerous books on educational equity, innovation and the rights of children. His most recent book is Class Rules: Exposing Inequality in American High Schools (Teachers College Press 2013). He holds a PH.D. in the sociology of education from New York University and a M.A. from the Yale Divinity School.
